Please note: this is an outline privacy policy. It will be reviewed and updated before launch, and a real contact route will be added on the Contact page before launch. This page does not claim legal compliance or any legal effect beyond what is written here.

How the calculators work

QuiltPilot calculators run in your browser. There is no sign-up, no account, and no password. When you enter a size, a count, or a cost, that input is used on the page to show a result, and it is not sent to a server in the outline version, because there is no backend yet.

Each calculator page states its own formula, its own rounding rule, and its own worked example, so you can check the result yourself. Checking the result does not need an account, and it does not need any personal information.

What stays on your own device

Save buttons on calculator pages save the last result on your own device, using localStorage in your browser. That saved result stays on your device only, and you can clear it by clearing the browser site data for QuiltPilot.

If you enter an email on the printable chart page, that email is saved on your own device only in the outline version, and no email is sent from that page. If you enter a message on the contact form, that message is saved on your own device only in the outline version, and no message is sent from that page.

Nothing on these pages sends your calculator inputs, your saved results, your chart email, or your contact message to QuiltPilot or to any other party in the outline version.

What QuiltPilot does not collect in the outline version

In the outline version, QuiltPilot does not use analytics, advertising trackers, or third party data collection, because none are built into these pages. QuiltPilot does not collect your name, your email address, or your location through the calculators or the chart, and it does not ask for payment details, because there is nothing to buy on this site.

If analytics or advertising are added before launch, this policy will be updated first, before those tools are turned on, so this page stays true to what the site actually does.

Advertising Disclaimer

QuiltPilot shows advertising through Google AdSense. Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to QuiltPilot and other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You may also opt out of a third party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

QuiltPilot itself sets no cookies. Cookies used for advertising on this site come from Google and its advertising partners as described above, and you can control cookies through your browser settings.

Affiliate links

Affiliate links, if added later, are a separate matter from data collection. How affiliate links are used, and where they appear, is explained on the Affiliate Disclosure page. Affiliate links are not part of the data claims on this page, and adding them later does not change the outline data claims above unless this policy is updated first.

Changes to this policy

This policy will be reviewed and updated before launch. If anything on this page changes, the updated page will say what changed in plain language, and the date of the change will be shown here when the launch version is published. Until launch, treat this page as an outline, not as a final policy.
